Shaving: Most of us do it. Unfortunately, billions of plastic razors and cartridges are thrown away every year. They cannot be recycled, as the metal is embedded in plastic. So, all this plastic is burned or ends up in nature. This is a disaster for the environment. Luckily, there are better options.

Zero-waste shaving with safety razors

Traditional safety razors are an effective swap for plastic-free shaving. These zero-waste razors were widely used before the mass production of single-use razors. Major shaving companies, who only had profit in mind, made the traditional razor forgotten. Still, zero-waste razors are now the best alternative for men and women alike.

 One recyclable blade

The zero-waste razors use one single blade made from stainless steel. Thus, the blades are easily recyclable. Please do check with your local recycling point for information about recycling the blades!

How often the blades need to be replaced depends on shave frequency and hair type, this can vary from a few weeks to months. Double-edge safety razor blades are economical and can be bought in most supermarkets or online.

We advise to never put an unprotected blade in the waste bin as this can be dangerous to you and others. Therefore, it is best to collect them in a can, old jar or tin, or similar object before disposing of them according to your local recycling regulations.

HOW TO USE
  1. Wet the desired area and latter some shaving soap or cream on the area. Tip: first exfoliate the area gently for optimal shaving.
  2. Wet the razor with some water
  3. Shave at an angle of 30 to the skin and do not push the razor into the skin. Let the weight of the razor head to its things. If you apply pressure you can easily irritate your skin and may even cause cuts.
  4. After each stroke rinse the razor and latter some more shaving cream or soap.
  5. Finish off by patting your skin dry with some cool water.
  6. After you are finished drying, it's important to soothe and moisturize the skin to avoid any skin irritations. Here are some moisturizers that might help, if you have sensitive skin, preferably use a moisturizer without any essential oils.

For first-time beginners: practice on easier areas such as your legs or armpits, to get a feel of the weight and the angle. Start out with short strokes and even shorter strokes around difficult areas such as ankles and jaw lines. Since this is a different way of shaving because it does not have an angled head just like with traditional razors, it takes a few times to get used to. You might cut yourself but don't let that discourage you. Do you remember how many times we used to cut ourselves when we first started shaving when we were younger? It's all part of the game. Once you get used to it, trust me you will regret not starting sooner.

FAQ

1. What is a safety razor? A safety razor is a type of razor that features a protective guard between the blade and the skin, reducing the risk of skin irritations, ingrown hairs, and cuts during shaving.
2. How to shave with a safety razor? Hold the razor at a certain angle, in most cases this is 30 degrees. And start with slow strokes. Do not press but let the weight of the razor do the shaving.
3. How many shaves with one blade? Some people indicate that they can easily shave an entire month with one blade. Depending on the quality of the double-edged razor blades, you can shave 2 to 7 times. The most affordable blades last 2 shaves. The better-quality blades only become dull after 7 shaves. The longevity of the blade also depends on the care, make sure the blade is clean and dry after each use.

Razon

I buy this razon few months back. Honestly is very hard to learn how to use it rightly. When I try to made it more sharp I open it a bit and after its get completly free and turn and I cut myself everywhere...
When I use it properly tight its not very sharp and the shaving with it its long.
Anyway still better than plastic ones:)

Hi there Karolina,

Sorry to hear that you aren't very satisfied with the use of the safety razor.

Have you check out the user manual? It's the QR code that is present in the packaging box or on this product page under 'HOW TO USE' where you can download it. Hope it works out otherwise you can always contact us for any help :)

Cheers,

Best Razor ever!

This Razor has such a nice grip and design. It removes even the most tiny and short hairs, never returning to my usual plastic razors from the store.

Wow!

I LOVE this razor so much! I am a very hairy girl and it really gets rid of a lot of hair! It is also very safe (if you are careful) and will use it everywhere :) I do get some cuts (once or twice in a month) but way less than with a plastic reusable razor. Never had such a clean shave and nice skin.

Will buy this for my sister for Christmas :)!!

Great razor

Easy to use, works well and it's also aesthetically pleasing hahah. Definitely a pro that it's a more sustainable option than regular disposable razors!

Don't forget these
