Baking soda, also known as sodium bicarbonate or bicarbonate of soda, isn't just for baking! This amazing and budget-friendly ingredient is safe and non-toxic but so effective for around the home.

  1. All-purpose Cleaner: Mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with 1 cup of warm water and a squirt of dish soap to create a gentle yet effective all-purpose cleaner. Use it to wipe down countertops, sinks, appliances, and even greasy stove tops.

  2. Natural Air Freshener: Combine baking soda with a few drops of your favorite essential oil in a small jar and  place it in closets, fridge, drawers, or anywhere that could use a little freshening up.

  7. DIY Antacid: Combat heartburn or indigestion by stirring 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda into a glass of water. Drink it slowly to neutralize stomach acid and soothe discomfort.

  8. Oven Cleaner: Make a thick paste using baking soda and water, then spread it evenly over the interior surfaces of your oven. Let it sit overnight, then wipe away grime and grease with a damp cloth.

  9. Bug Bite Relief: Mix a teaspoon of baking soda with enough water to form a paste, then apply it to bug bites or stings for instant relief from itching and inflammation.
  10. Laundry booster: Helps to keep clothes white and colored. Just add ½ cup of baking soda to each laundry load along with your regular detergent.
